Truck Driving Night Course

The Night Course has been designed to cater to the needs of the head of household that works full time but needs to balance the family, the full time job, and the need for a career change.  This truck driver training course will be conducted on a more personalized basis.  It will be held for four hours each night, have only two students per truck, and will obtain a commercial driver's license (CDL) in just four short weeks.

Class hours are: Monday thru Friday, 4:00pm - 8:00pm or 5:00pm - 9:00pm

The first week of training is a combination of classroom training and field training.  Some of the topics include:

  • Safety techniques
  • In-depth study of DOT safety, rules and regulations
  • Preparation for the six test that all California State Commercial Drivers (DMV) need to pass before getting behind the wheel
  • Practice proper log book procedures
  • Job search techniques.

The next three weeks of training are all hands on, behind-the-wheel training.  Students will learn:

  • Backing and docking techniques
  • Defensive driving techniques
  • City and highway driving and how it relates to safety
  • Up-shifting and down-shifting
  • Emergency procedures
  • Hooking and unhooking of trailers
  • Training in a variety of trucks
  • Invaluable critiques and guidance from our professional instructors.
